Conchological Society AGM (Saturday 28th March)
Further to the website message of Wednesday 11th March, it has now been decided, due to further development of the Covid-19 virus situation, to postpone the AGM. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, but the health and safety of Society members will always take precedence over other matters. To have proceeded with the meeting might have exposed people to unnecessary Covid-19 risks. Further factors in our decision were that (1) our speaker, Prof. Robert Cameron, was not able to attend and (2) many Society Council and other members had already sent apologies. The AGM would probably have had insufficient members to be quorate meaning that business matters requiring a vote could not have been undertaken.
It is hoped to relocate the AGM to a date in autumn 2020 when it is judged safe to ask members to travel to London again.
