Limapontia depressa. All black dorsum apart from yellow eye-patches. Ribs absent or indiscernible against black. Orkney. May 1975

Limapontia depressa. Yellowish and pale-brown specimens at Aust, Severn Estuary, August 2011. Quite different from specimens with dense white spotting at Littleton 3km up estuary. Tiny pale metapodium tip on top specimen.

Limapontia depressa. L. 5mm. Anterior of head has vertical slit aligned with concavity on anterior edge of foot; holds filament of alga vertically when feeding. Orange-yellow sole, brown mantle. Ovotestis spheroids visible.

Limapontia depressa. Contorted as in unsuitable salinity. Eye-patch ribs indiscernible. Mantle edge distinct, side of foot exposed. Vertical groove centrally in anterior edge of mantle; helps hold filament of alga when feeding. Dee, Chesh. July 2011.

Limapontia depressa. Near-posterior anus (indicated) and excreted grey-white semi-liquid faeces. Left specimen translucent with weak ribs round eye-patches. Right specimen has stronger ribs and resultant “saucer” effect eye-patches. Menai Strait.

Limapontia depressa. Prominent rib (indicated), above, in front of and below eye patch, making “saucer” effect. Foot whitish. Translucent specimen showing one of two dark-green, lobed, branches of digestive gland. Menai Strait. Oct. 2009.

Limapontia depressa. Diagnostic near-posterior anus often difficult to discern. Here indicated by small greyish anal prolapse (1). Posterior terminates in very short pale blunt point (2), not always visible. Dark-green lobed digestive gland. Menai Strait.
