Akera bullata habitat: soak away pond for marine aquarium, Oban, Scotland. 50 m from sea. Combination of full salinity water from aquarium, rain and fresh-water run off from field. Pond destroyed September 2011.

Akera bullata. Length 25mm. Epithelium pale brown overlaid with light and dark blotches and, on cephalic disc, dark streaks. Spire of shell prominent compared to Oban specimens. Fleet lagoon, Dorset, England.

Akera bullata. Final whorl of shell separated from penultimate whorl by a slit near the suture. Slit in earlier whorls sealed with membrane, but breaking open again on this beached shell. Fleet lagoon, Dorset. April 2012. (Stacked image).
