Size: Up to 14mm high; 6mm broad Shape: Relatively tall shell with the last whorl making up about 55-60% of the total shell height. Has a short but wide siphonal canal and shallow anal sinus (usually with a thick edge). Colour: Pale brown. Sculpture: Possesses 7-9 costae per whorl; numerous minute spiral ridges which are often eroded. Animal: White. There are two cephalic tentacles with an eye about two thirds along each. No operculum on foot.
Lives on gravelly bottoms from depth of 10-50m.
Rare but has been collected all around the UK except in the North Sea.
