Guest speaker: Amy-Jane Beer, ‘Slugs, snails and saving the planet’.
11:00 – 17:00: Angela Marmont Centre, Natural History Museum, Cromwell Rd., London SW7 5BD.
The lecture will start shortly after 14:00.
Amy will speak about the value of natural history expertise - be it trees or birds or fungi or molluscs - but also the importance of imagination and wonder, of paying attention and of sharing love of nature more overtly. She will explain why it’s vital that we make room for magic, passion and poetry amid the science and the statistics.
In the morning, there will be informal presentations by members, and, it is hoped, discussions about a range of issues including identification problems. Please think about exhibits, presentations and issues, and come prepared.
(Council members please note that there will be no Council meeting before this meeting.)
