Again the is no available charter boat, and there are weather problems.  Whether and when the usual larger boat is going to St Martin's won't be decided until 09:00.  We will meet at 09:15 in the middle of  Hughtown, opposite the Bishop and Wolf, and decide what to do then.

We have been unable to find a boatman willing to take us to St Agnes early on Saturday because bad weather is predicted.   
 
Meeting point and provisional programme ****
 
Here is the provisional programme, which is subject to change partcularly in response to weather conditions.  We will do our best to post changes on this website.  Anyone who is interested - especially IoSWT members and staff - is very welcome to join us on the day;  if possible, please let us know by the evening before, by e-mail to bas.payne@gmail.com, but come anyway even if you can't send an e-mail.
 
Friday 27th September:  St. Mary's.  Low tide 10:40, 0.9m.  
Meeting point: 08:00 on E side of Porth Cressa, approx SV 905 103.
We may decide to work Porth Cressa, or one of the other shores to the east - Tolman Bay, Old Town Bay,or Porth Hellick; or the party may split to cover more shores.   Those who like to walk further might try Pelistry Bay.
 
Saturday 28th September: St. Agnes.  Low tide  11:25, 0.6m.
Meeting point: 08:00, boat harbour, St. Mary's, to take boat to St. Agnes.
Shores mainly on S end of Island, including Wingletang Bay, St. Warna's Cove, Porth Killier, the tombolo between St. Agnes and Gugh, and Dropnose Point on Gugh.  At the request of IoSWT, please avoid Burnt Island.
 
Sunday 29th September: St. Martin's.  Low tide  12:10, 0.3m.
Meeting point: 08:30, boat harbour, St. Mary's, to take boat to St. Agnes.
One of the best tides.  Shores mainly on SE of island, especially Lawrence Bay (rocks and Zostera beds), Higher Town Bay (Zostera beds), and Porth Seal. At the rquest of IoSWT, please avoid White Island - biosecurity issues (Sargassum).  If winds are westerly, St Martin's Bay is more sheltered.  
 
Monday 30th September:  Bryher/Samson.  Low tide  12:55, 0.3m.
Meeting point: 09:15, boat harbour, St. Mary's, to take boat to Bryher.
One of the best tides.  Shores mainly on SW  of Island, including Rushy Bay, Great Porth and Crow Island.  Also Samson Flats.  If winds are westerly, bay on E side of island may be more sheltered.
 
Tuesday 1st October: Tresco.  Low tide  13:35, 0.4m.
Meeting point: 10:00, boat harbour, St. Mary's, to take boat to Tresco.
Shores, mainly S end of island, especially Appletree Point, Carn Near (rocks and Zostera beds), Tresco Flats, Skirt Island and Old Grimsby Harbour (Zostera beds). 
 
Wednesday 2nd October:  .Low tide 14:15, 0.6 m.
No plans as yet:  people may want to revisit a good shore, try more shores, or may need to process material and samples already collected.
 
We will have a small anchor grab, which we will use as opportunity presents itself.  
 
Please note that several of the sites we will visit are SSSIs or MCZs. Live specimens should only be colected when necessary for lab examination and for secure identification;  weed-washing and other samples should be taken in a way that avoids high local impacts.
 
I'll try to keep the website updated, and can probably be most easily contacted by e-mail - I will intend to check it at around 07:00 every morning,  and at around 19:00 every evening.
