14:00-17:30: Angela Marmont Centre, Natural History Museum.
As in previous years, this will be a meeting made up of a series of short presentations (5-20 minutes) by members: these can be anything mollusc–related, with or without exhibits.
The presentations will include an extract from a recently digitised sound archive of recordings of the special events to mark the Conchological Society's centenary year in 1976, including a short talk by the famous marine biologist Sir Maurice Yonge (1899-1986), and also featuring the Society's Hon. President of that year, Terry Crowley.
This will be followed by a glass of Christmas wine (free!); and then by supper at a nearby restaurant (pay your share …).
If you would like to make a presentation, or want to book a place at the restaurant, please get in touch with Peter (01462 615 499; president@conchsoc.org)
(Council members please note that there will be a Council meeting before this meeting.)
Peter Topley (01462 615 499; president@conchsoc.org).
