Following the Godrevy Towans meeting on 17 June, to make the long journey more worthwhile for those coming a long distance.
Mexico Towans is a large area of sand dunes backing a NW-facing sandy bay. Beach shells can be good, but this depends very much on the weather. If the weather and conditions at Godrevy on the previous day suggest that Mexico Towans might be unproductive, or if those who want to come want to go somewhere different (e.g. a rocky shore), we might try Porthmeor Beach in St. Ives, or Portreath, which is 6-7 miles east of Gwithian. (LT 13:20, +0.8m.)
Meet, provisionally, at the Mexico Towans car oark (SW approx. 555 385); if you intend to come, please ring Bas to confirm the shore and meeting place.
