Part of a Bioblitz organised by North Devon Coastwise (http://www.coastwisenorthdevon.org.uk/bioblitz.html).
This is the Society's contribtion to the Woolacombe Bioblitz, an event that aims to record as many species as possible in a 24-hour period, and at the same time to engage and enthuse the public. We plan to contribute by collecting and recording on Woolacombe and Barricane beaches and the rocks and pools between them, and by some of our members manning a mollusc identification point and leading a strandline walk for the public (rockpool walks are also being organised).
If possible please contact Bas Payne in advance before Tuesday 3rd September, otherwise meet at the entrance to the carpark at the north end of Woolacombe Beach, NGR SS 457 437, at 11:30. Low tide (+0.7m) is at 13:45; the tidal range will be large - about 9m.
