Welcome to the Conchological Society website. I hope that you enjoyed visiting the information here and will join us on our many an various indoor meetings and outdoor field events.
We are dedicated to the study of a shells, snails, slugs and our members have interests and expertise in a wide variety of differing fields.... from photography, marine shells, shell collecting, books of shells and molluscs, molluscs in literature, decorated shells, ecology, conservation, archaeology, palaeo-geoagraphy. All united young and old, with an interest and eagerness to learn and share more about molluscs. Our indoor meetings are informal, informative and friendly - our field meetings are investigative, educational, fun and have shared camaraderie, and at both experts and experienced snailers are at hand to the help the new ... and there are areas of Conchology new to us all.
Our website is a tremendous (and expanding) resource in itself, but is augmented by our popular colourful newsletter Mollusc World (yes it has appeared on Have I got News for you!), and our academic publication Journal of Conchology. I hope that there is something here for everyone, and this has whetted your appetite to find out more and to come and join us at one of field or indoor meetings.
