Two new species of the genus Priodiscus are described from Seychelles based on highly distinct shell sculpture, radula tooth number and differences in reproductive anatomy. The systematic position of the genus is reviewed, concluding that its inclusion in the family Rhytididae is doubtful. Several anatomical characters are described that allow the Rhytididae and Streptaxidae to be distinguished, these demonstrate that this anomalous genus shows greater affinity to the Streptaxidae.
