Dionysades is a group of four isolated islets close to the NE coasts of Crete. Among the 22 species of land snails that were found on the four islets 19 have living populations while 6 are reported for the first time. The synthesis of the malacofauna of the whole island group is in agreement with the paleogeographic history of the region and it appears to be relictual compared to the malacofauna of eastern Crete.
