In Cornwall large numbers of Vertigo moulinsiana were obtained from short herb-rich fen vegetation using quantitative sampling methods. Smaller numbers were obtained from the more usual reedswamp habitats nearby, by beating stems over a tray. Occurrence of Vertigo moulinsiana in short herb-rich vegetation has implications for our understanding of its habitat requirements and for the choice of sampling techniques.
