Oxychi1us (Ortizius) helveticus (Blum) is reported living in Co. Limerick, in SW Ireland. Though this species is widespread in England and Wales, all previous Irish records from open habitats are thought to he erroneous. The disturbed nature of the newly discovered sites suggests that it may be a relatively recent introduction.
