Fusinus (Sinistralia) somaliensis is described as a new species from Mogadiscio, Somalia. Other species of this sinistral subgenus are discussed and the holotypes of F. (S.) elegans, F. (S.) barclayi and ‘Fusus’ taylorianus are figured. A lectotype of Fusinus taylorianus (Reeve) is designated.
