A new species of Caecum have been found on the Southeastern Brazilian coast, between 21°–23° S. Caecum (Elephantulum) massambabensis n.sp. is diagnosed by its size (6mm), increasing diameter towards aperture, absence of spiral sculpture and dominance of very fine longitudinal striae.
