Two nominal vitrinid species from Southern Italy and Sicily, Vitrina musignani Pirajno, 1842, and Vitrina paulucciae Fischer in Paulucci, 1878, are revised. The available data supports that they represent a single species belonging to the genus Oligolimax Fischer in Paulucci, 1878: Oligolimax musignani.

This species constitutes the smallest species of Oligolimax and is characterized by protoconch with a few pits near suture of first half whorl and fine, wavy, radial, rather widely and regularly spaced, irregularly branched periostracal crests; teleoconch with fine, radial, closely and regularly spaced ribs; genitalia with large wide glandula amatoria almost entirely covered by thick glandular layer.
