We have developed this policy because we want you to feel confident about the privacy and security of your personal information.
GENERIC LEGISLATION POLICY
The Conchological Society of Great Britain and Ireland, and all its members,
Officers, Council Members, Trustees and representatives shall always operate
within the law, complying with all legislation and regulatory requirements, and
other external obligations.
OVERSEAS LOCATIONS.
Although the legislation applicable to the local environment shall always apply, where there is no specific legislation, or is less stringent, the spirit of the UK law should be adopted and followed, assuming it does not conflict with local legislation.
DATA PROTECTION ACT
Personal data shall be obtained, maintained, stored, used and passed on only in strict
accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
We respect the privacy of personal addresses and e-mail addresses. We will not send
you unwanted e-mail messages or junk mail, and your details will not be passed
on to ANY organisation without your explicit permission.
The Conchological Society of Great Britain and Ireland complies with the data protection
laws in the UK and takes all reasonable care to prevent unauthorised access
to your personal data.
If you want to know exactly what personal information the Society holds on you, you
can obtain it. If it transpires that the information held is inaccurate, we
will make the necessary amendments and confirm to you that these have been made.
